My Creative Space - The Gold Trim Challenge

This week my space is all about Loz and Dinny and the fun challenge that Gemma has set. I have 80cm of gold trim to use 'in some crafty project to make it have its day basking in the sunshine of handmade'. What a cool brief!

So I have teamed the trim with a $1 piece of upholstery fabric from the Op Shop and some satin kindly given to me from my mother-in-law's stash. And I have until the 29th Sep to make this into something worthy of sunshine basking!

Also waiting for my attention are 3 balls of Sugar 'n Cream cotton. They desperately want to be made into knitted dishcloths and they will be, as soon as I have time in between wiping snotty noses (mine and the kids'), giving extra cuddles, driving children to sleep and trying to find some slither of sanity in my severely sleep-deprived, snot-filled mind!

I hope your house is a happy, healthy one with lots of creativity happening. Pop over to the Redwork Quilt Maker extrodinaire to see who is inviting you into their space this week.

Bring on the sunshine, so we can see your handmade project basking!

Hope everyone gets well soon. I'm right there with you on the snot and sleep thing. L. x

Ahhh, snot. What fun. Hopefully it's all a distant memory before too long!

My cotton arrived from American Yarns on Monday (thank you!), and has already started working itself into washcloths! I love getting packages in the mail ;-)

Oh you poor things! Nothing worse than looking after sick little ones when you are sick yourself. There should be a law against it!

On the up side I love that yarn, especially the lavender one in the middle. That is my exact favourite colour :)

You really know how to keep the suspense going - and you love it! Hope the snotty thing is on the improve, lovely.

Perhaps you could work the snot into the Loz and Dinny challenge? And then wipe it up with the washcloths!

(Sometimes I try just too hard to find that silver lining...)

Fingers crossed the snot dries up, the sleep returns and the days give you more creative time. Great post!

eek, that trim challenge looks like a REAL challenge (I'm reminded of a cover my Nan had on her bed!)

Good luck getting a bit of rest, it helps get over the bugs a little bit faster.

Really looking forward to seeing what you do with that pretty gold braid. Love your knitted dish cloths too - they make nice soft facewashers for little faces as well.

I am so looking forward to seeing what everyone makes in the Loz and Dinny challenge.
Very exciting...!!!
Hope you're all feeling better soon. We've had a rough winter in this house too - colds, flu, croup, gastro, and so it went on. The worst of it is the sleep deprivation - total torture!
On the upside there is nothing better than a bit of creativity to at least make the mind feel good even if the body doesn't follow.
