Ethical Clothing Pledge

I have taken Isis' Ethical Clothing Pledge.

I pledge to only wear clothing that is one or more of the following:

1. Pre-loved
2. Handmade (preferably by me)
3. Reconstructed
4. Made with ethical / environmentally friendly materials
5. Made by a company with strong ethical policy & workers' rights

There is more info on the pledge and Isis' thinking behind it at her blog. I think it is amazing and inspiring, and I am excited at what is possible. Thankyou to Isis for sharing her thoughts, ideas and beliefs and for encouraging me to think about how I can make a difference.

I love to have buddies to do things with. It's great to be on the journey together... you can keep me going when I want to chuck it all in and go to K-mart! (Yes, K-mart, I'm a big brands girl).

Good on you! If I took that pledge though I'd be running around nude a couple of days a week I'm sure...

I think I'm with Mookah. And that just wouldn't be pretty (although a nudey Mookah probably is). I reckon I'm going to do some nice quiet practise runs for a while before I bite the bullet on this and make it official-like. But you? You could do this with your eyes clothes and a twin in each arm.

Good on you! I would love to do this in theory, but I'm not convinced that it would work in practice around here just now. I think it sounds way more workable than the refasion pledge though. So I might join in. We'll see!!

Good for you Nikki - I have no doubt that you'll do very well at it too. Especially when you're able to make and refashion things that look a hundred times nicer than something that comes from a shop.

I need to take a leaf out of your book. (But might be doing the nudey run with Mookah and Myrtle up there).

There is no doubt in my mind that you will do this so very easily Nik, well done. I want to be on this ride too, and although I would not be doing a nudey run (as this is simply an un-thinkable experience for all) I would end up waering small ish tents b/c I am still not friends with my machine yet.
