My Creative Space - The Big Picture

So this is my first 'Creative Space'. I thought it was about time I joined in after quietly peeking through your blog windows into your creative spaces for so long. So given that this is your first official glimpse into what is called my creative space, I thought I would give you the "big picture".

This..... is my creative space....

....no, not the verandah (although it is used to handsew while watching children play).... my creative space is my house!

We have a great little house at the top of a too big hill... but.... it is a little house. It was bought when "we" were 2 but now we are 4 which means we have double the stuff we used to have. So my creative space is spread across the house.

Most of the actual creating takes place on the dining room table...

... where it is delicately shoved to one end at dinner time.

Supplies are kept mostly neatly on a shelf in the corner of our bedroom....

... with some fabrics of the everygrowing stash finding their home in the bottom of the wardrobe.

So that's it. A little peek into my house, my life and my creative space! Head over to visit Kirsty at Kootoyoo to be inspired by lots of Creative Spaces.

For what's it worth, I think your space looks fantastic, I bet its a hive of activity. Wouldn't it be great to win tats and be able to build a room just for you.

I love your space - I'm with Leonie. While I lvoe me sewwing room that I have now, I miss the days when my fabric was in the linen cupboard and my sewing room was in the dining room! It felt more like I was in the centre of the house!

Great space(s)! It just goes to show that crafty types are also "make it happen wherever" types as well - that's passion for you! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog too!

Oh yes, I don't have one creative space either. I kind of enjoy a change of scenery anyway. So sometimes I work in the kitchen and other times I am in the living room or even outside.

Ooo exciting! Great pictures that you've shared. I also love your little black cardigan girl in the banner. She's cute!

While I have dreams of having a sewing room one day, the reality is everything is in our bedroom at the moment. This is good for sewing while watching the kids play in the back yard, unfortunately I'm not as tidy as you are! My partner thinks he could start a support group for 'partners of crafters':)

I LOVE the wool pants from the last post!

Gotta love the dining room table...I have had a case of the "shove to one side" lately too...Make it work that's all that matters, right?

Sounds a bit like my situation. My studio is a somewhat mobile, and depending on where there is space in the house.

I can so get that a 'house on a hill' is an excellent creative space. I am also in awe of your tidy towers of stash! (or did you only tidy within the parameters of the shot like someone I know?).

Thanks Nikki I love a good sticky-beak. It's great to be able to imagine you in your physical space, conducting your science experiments!
I actually really love the idea of having a big table with my creative space at one end. We've sacrificed having a table in our flat so that we can fit in all the books, and kids etc, for the next few years!! But one day I'll have a looooong trellis table and my sewing gear will sit at one end, only to be removed for Christmas dinners :-)

Your creative space sounds just like mine - work on the dining table (which lives in the kitchen), storage in my bedroom. I think you get much more creative with your storage when you don't have much space! Cheers!

My space is so similar... Its all over and everywhere and wherever I am :)

I think it's standard that crafty-types seem to take over parts of the house. I think it's the fault of the fabric - I am sure mine is multiplying on its own, surely I couldn't have bought it all...
Next time you write of craft I will picture you on the verandah.
Lovely.

I'm so glad that someone else does the delicate shove thing at dinner time too! I actually have an entire room though for my stuff, and still the stuff migrates around the house, making it's way to the dining table!

What a lovely glimpse into your world.

Much more organised than my space... why am I not surprised! :D

I think most of us have been there before - the kitchen table that is. I have a small sewing space in the living room and some of it still makes it's way onto the kitchen table :-)

I'm a kitchen table and couch girl myself. I frustrate my husband to no end because he is at home with the kids and I leave little nests of mess scattered around the house! It's ok. I support his wine hobby sufficiently

Is there any place but the dining table to craft?! I think relocating the lot with a dramatic sweep of the arm, just before dinner each night, adds to the fun!

Thanks for the tour!
