We didn't have a Christmas tree and didn't really want to buy one... real or artificial... for lots of reasons. But when my Mr and I drove past this dead tree lying on the side of the road, we knew we'd found our tree. It is different and odd and not what you would expect and we love it.
Hanging on it are decorations that have meaning to us including two new ones this year, the first of a new tradition (who would have thought that having children would make me get all tradition-y!) - each year we'll make a new decoration for the tree. This year, I made my two little reindeers. Next year my little reindeers might make their own.
Also on the tree are two little stockings made just for my reindeers. Thankyou Trixi. They did make it off the kids' fingers and onto the tree!
So all that's left to say is Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Thank you for stopping by my 'place' this year. It has been amazing to meet so many wonderful people whose paths I would never have crossed until I started blogging. I hope you all enjoy the time spent with your special people, whatever you are doing and whatever you are celebrating. I look forward to chatting to you again in the new year. xxxx

Merry Christmas to you and yours also, I feel the same way about meeting a lot of lovely generous people whos path we may not have crossed if not for blogging!
Merry Christmas Nikki. I hope you have a wonderful time - love your tree!
hugs to you & the little ones ♥
What a great looking tree!
We have a an artificial one, but I've been admiring the various versions of "stick" trees lately and thinking I like them.
It really puts the emphasis on individual ornaments rather than loads of tinsel and lights.
I also love your newly started tradition of making decorations each year. I was trying to start a tradition of buying a new ornament each year but maybe I'll switch it to making!
Merry Christmas and all that! Looking forward to your crafting adventures in the new year.
It's like the Charlie Brown tree. All it needed was a little love. :)
Cute reindeer. Merry Christmas to you!
Wishing you and your family and friends lots and lots of festive fun!
Love all the traditions that you've been starting. I ran out of time to make birthday bunting... too much pressure on at this time of year so I've decided to make bunting at my leisure sporting the word "celebrate" ... less letters which will be a bonus, we can use it for all sorts and there is not a deadline in sight for me to finish it by :) Thank you so much for all your wonderful support in regards to this project - means so much to me.
those ornamants are so cuuuute!! Love them!!!
it has been so nice to *meet* you this year and I have really enjoyed your blog and all of your BRILLIANT ideas! My fabric has arrived for the birthday bunting i am making for Busy for hers in late jan.
have a great day on Friday, big love to you xx
So true that having kids makes us all the more tradition-y! Its been ace 'meeting' you this year. Wishing you lots of happy fun times. X
I never appreciated tradition and ritual so much as when the kids started arriving. We do the handmade ornamental thing too - but none are as spiffy as your reindeers. Excellent getting to know you this year Mrs MBC. Looking forward to lots more 2010 giggles!
xx
Those little stockings are so cute! And the reindeer - you're so funny. Merry Christmas!
Love the fabulous tree and the reindeer. Just wonderful.
Have a great festive season. Look forward to catching up soon.

Your tree is the best!! It's the meaning behind the tree and not the tree itself. MC to you and your little family Honey!! Can't wait to start fresh next year in a new house with a new space and new view on family life!! Then I can share it all in blog land!! Remember to be good are at least be good at it!!
Big Love Steph
Christmas trees are a funny business, but your find is perfect. I like the minimal, practical and upcycled factors! As for your reindeer, well that is beyond cute.
Lovely blogging along with you this year, and all the rest of it... it's been awesome. Thanks Nikki. Love ya.
A new life for an old, dead branch. Clever you and it looks lovely. I do like those little reindeer. Wishing all at your house a very happy Christmas.
Quite unique, that tree Nik. Love to hear of it finding new life in your home ... also love the little reindeer faces ... more than I can measure!
